Coal cars in Wainwright…..

The photo of the coal cars was taken from the upper end of Wainwright looking toward the village. There were few trees so the company houses are visible. Bill Carlisle, lived in the house on the right side of the photo. That was the mine foreman’s home. And the nearby barn, not visible, housed the mine ponies. Across the road lived the blacksmith for the mine.

  1. My grandfather,Clarence Philip Heldt,worked in those mines.Later,he ran Heldt’s Market with my grandmother,Inez Pissocra Heldt.

  2. Like the old photos came to Wainwright when a child My family was Bonzi and the Comigaghi my father Andrew William Bonzi Jackie Bonzi. American Legion team 1950 Bob Comignaghi picture.
